LORD MATSYA AND THE GREAT STORM

Lord Matsya jumped from the river into King Satyavrata’s hand and asked the King for protection. While under the King’s care, Matsya grew to an enormous size.

Every day, King Satyavrata facilitated Lord Matsya’s growth by relocating Him to homes that suited His increasing size.

Eventually, Lord Matsya told the King of a devastating storm forecast to inundate the entire land, and He asked King Satyavrata to engage his citizens in building a boat that would give shelter to the world’s population.

In the chaos caused by a massive storm, a boy and a mongoose became separated, and the boy almost lost hope of ever finding his friend.
