SHAKATASURA, THE CART DEMON

When Nanda and Yashoda were celebrating Krishna’s first birthday, a demon entered a cart in their courtyard and waited for the opportunity to crush baby Krishna to death.

When baby Krishna became tired, Mother Yashoda put Him to rest in a small bed under the cart. Krishna knew that the demon was hiding there, and He kicked the side of the cart, knocking it over and smashing Shakatasura to pieces.
